Yang Shi is the Founder and Managing Partner of Koa Law, a boutique law firm based in New York and New Jersey.

Koa Law focuses on serving high-net-worth individuals in the United States, with practice areas including family and matrimonial law, wealth preservation and estate planning, trust formation, legal entity structuring, and cross-border business due diligence. The firm is grounded in the belief that a unique combination of cultural fluency and legal expertise in both China and the United States enables it to deliver truly valuable cross-border legal solutions to its clients.

Prior to founding Koa Law, Ms. Shi worked at Goldman Sachs in New York, where she provided legal and compliance coverage for the Global Banking & Markets Division, supporting equities derivatives and trading businesses. She also served as a Senior Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering Officer at China Renaissance Securities (U.S.) and worked in the Legal Department of Bank of China, New York Branch, where she gained extensive experience in financial regulation and cross-border compliance. Ms. Shi holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and an LL.M. in Financial Services Law from New York Law School, as well as an LL.M. in European Trade and Commercial Law from Durham University. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the State of New Jersey.
