美国总统特朗普还曾强调，此轮加收关税并不会设有“宽限期”，哪怕是对于已经处于物流、运输阶段的商品，也将面临被征收9月1日凌晨开始生效的新关税税率。
截至目前，在美国从中国进口的全部消费品中，69%已面临额外关税；加之，分别将生效于10月1日和12月15日的关税政策，据彼得森国际经济研究所专家鲍恩（Chad Bown）估算，该比例将可能增加至99%。
